This 2-day workshop took place on August 18-19, 2025 in Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, and was attended by all teachers and coordinators in the program. Recruitment and Retention Leads (RRLs) were also able to meet in-person with local directors and 2 visiting overseas directors of the program. Other overseas directors joined sessions by Zoom.
The objectives of this 2nd Annual Teacher Workshop were:
To align curriculum delivery across grades 9-11 by identifying and agreeing upon core content areas in Mathematics and English A; and
To demonstrate how AI tools could be used to design diagnostic assessments to effectively identify students’ entry levels, strengths and weaknesses, and support incoming students.
Day 1 afforded teachers from the two locations the opportunity to meet by subject area. The day was spent determining key topics from the curriculum which needed to be reinforced in each grade to ensure readiness for moving up to the next grade. The day ended with a Happy Hour to which supporters from among the Golden Grove community were invited.
On the 2nd day of the workshop, teachers were guided through an exciting hands-on session by Director Dr. Gordon (Nicky) Harewood, on how AI (Gemini) could be used to design diagnostic assessments.
EEHG's Board of Directors remains committed to helping its teachers be more efficient and effective.
